Microscopes
For the documentation, imaging, analyses and quantification of micro-traces, different microscopes are available:
Hirox 3-d microscope HRX-01 with a confocal scanner
Stereo-microscope - Zeiss Discovery V8 with a Zeiss Axiocam 208 color camera
Metallurgical microscope - Zeiss Axioscope 5 with a Zeiss Axiocam 305 color camera
Polarized microscope - Zeiss Axiolab 5 with a Zeiss Axiocam 208 color camera
Dino-lite - digital USB microscope

Wet Lab
This room is available for sample preparation and cleaning processes of various types of materials. A fume hood offers a safe way to contain and ventilate hazardous fumes. Ultrasonic baths and compressor are also available.

FTIR Spectrometer – Thermo Scientific Nicolet iS5
Fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) Spectrometer. To identify the mineralogical composition of materials and sediments.
Particle Sizer – Fritsch Analysette 28
For sedimentological analysis: grain size measurements and morphology of the particles.
Laboratory Furnace – Nabertherm L15\12
To conduct controlled heating experiments.
Spectrophotometer – Minolta CM-700d
For accurate and reliable color measurement.
Field Work Equipment
Our lab possesses compressors, generators, pneumatic tools (airscribes; PaleoTool©), die grinders, electric hammers.
A drone (Mavic 2) and a total station (Leica TS07) are also available.
